Titanomagnetite (Fe 3-x Ti x O 4, 0 ≤ x ≤ 1) is a common, naturally occurring magnetic mineral critical to many paleomagnetic studies. Underlying most interpretations is the assumption that, lacking chemical alteration, Curie temperature (T c) remains constant. However, recent work has demonstrated that T c of many natural …
Vanadiferous titanomagnetite (VTM) ore is an important natural multi-mineral co-associated magnetic material [1, 2].It is a mixture ore composed of several valuable mineral phases, like titanomagnetite, magnetite, ilmenite, coulsonite, hematite, rutile, quartz, etc. [3,4,5,6].Recently, a large number of low-grade vanadiferous …
The samples in our experiments were single titanomagnetite crystals synthesized by B.J. Wanamaker using the floating zone technique (Wanamaker and Moskowitz, 1994).Optical, Laue back-reflection and scanning electron microscopy, electron microprobe, and thermomagnetic analyses indicate that the TM60 sample is a single crystal, single …
Increased content in titanomagnetite and magnetic permeability correlated well with the total Fe content in the materials. The best-performing ironsand with the highest permeability and lowest core losses was used alongside Mn,Zn-Ferrite particles (ranging from ∼100 μ m to 2 mm) to fabricate toroid cores with varying magnetic material loading.
